Samsung, like Apple, announced the launch of its own program for repairing Galaxy devices. They launched this program in cooperation with iFixit. It’s a leading online repair community.

Samsung has joined forces with iFixit to release repair kits for their smartphones. At the moment, only the Samsung Galaxy S20, S21, and Tab S7+ are available for repair. Over time, the number of devices that will be available for repair will increase.

If you want to use the services of self-repair, then you should go to its official website of Samsung and order yourself a repair kit. There you can find original parts at bargain prices. You can also get tools from iFixit to fix your smartphone or tablet. In addition, you’ll find a sticker in the kit that you can use to send broken parts back to Samsung for recycling.

Samsung is constantly offering consumers more convenient options to extend the life of their devices, promote the circular economy and minimize e-waste. Samsung self-repair is another way for consumers to extend the life of their devices before disposing of them,” said Mark Williams, vice president of customer service for Samsung Electronics America.

Ensuring the availability of replacement parts is a key sustainability strategy. We’re excited to work directly with Samsung and their customers to extend the life of their phones,” said Kyle Viens, co-founder, and CEO of iFixit.

For now, you can fix parts like screens, batteries, charging ports, and rear glass sections yourself. Soon the list of parts you can replace will grow and you’ll be able to fix parts like the camera or speakers as well.

The program has been available since August 2 in the US. However, Samsung promises that in the coming months it will launch self-service repair in other regions around the world as well.
