According to TubeFilter’s weekly breakdown, 29 of the 50 most viewed YouTube channels this week use YouTube Shorts as the primary type of content. While only one channel in the top 5 actively uses YouTube Shorts (that’s LeoNata Family with 435.9 million views weekly), it combines them with long videos. In the top 50, there is a majority of such channels.
This is not surprising since Shorts obviously take less time to watch, and channels are often geared toward children who rewatch one video several times. Although it’s not fair to long-videos content creators, in the future, we can expect that almost all channels in the top 50 by views will focus on YouTube Shorts, at least using them as their main content.
Of the top 50 channels, 22 are from the United States, and 10 are from India. Of the other countries, no more than 2.
