Activision has announced that pre-order customers will be able to play the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II story campaign beginning Oct. 20, a week before the game’s official release on Oct. 28. This means that you will have enough time to fully complete the main story before you start fighting in the online game. It helps to familiarize yourself with the characters, locations, new weapons, and mechanics of the game in general.
Gamers who pre-order the shooter also get two days early access to MW2’s open beta sessions, as well as instant use of special character and weapon skins. Purchasing the Vault Edition will get a Battle Pass for the first season, as well as characters and cosmetics available in the open beta, Warzone, and even the original Modern Warfare remake.
Activision will reveal more details about MW2 and the next Warzone at the multi-hour Call of Duty event on September 15. However, advanced access to single-player gameplay shows what the company wants first. Although the company is still committed to developing the story of the series, it sees the latest game as the basis for a new multiplayer experience.
