I’m a new Spotify user, but I already had a problem – I lost my card and had to block it. As a result, I had to change the payment details in all the services I use and have a paid subscription.
Since I just joined Spotify (don’t ask me why it took me so long to get there), it took me a while to figure out how to do it. The thing is, there are a few pitfalls that not everyone knows about.
How to update your Spotify payment details
Let’s start with the simplest thing – just try to follow Spotify’s instructions. Everything you have to do looks very easy:
- Log in to your account
- Select Your Plan and click Update next to your current payment method
- Choose another payment method
It all sounds very simple, doesn’t it? Indeed, in most cases it works.
Except that I was not able to update, because I encountered an error.
How do I change my credit card on Spotify app?
What did I do? Unsubscribed to Spotify, then I was able to remove the old card and re-subscribe using the new card. By the way, in case you didn’t know, you don’t lose your saved songs or albums if you unsubscribe – they will be available again if you re-subscribe.
Another way to solve this problem is to contact support and ask them to manually change the payment method. Just explain that you have encountered a problem.
