Most of today’s TVs are equipped with various Smart TV systems, which give your TV a very wide range of options for viewing a variety of content. You can install various streaming services on your smart TV and watch your favorite shows using them. You can also simply use the built-in browser and go to any website to turn on the video there. One of the most convenient features of a Smart TV is the Screen Replay function of your smartphone. With it you can display the image from your cell phone directly on your TV. This is very convenient, especially if you need to show your friends, for example, some website or show a presentation.
What is Google Chromecast
In case your TV doesn’t have a Smart TV system, there are many set-top boxes with the same functions. Google also has such a set-top box. It is called Chromecast. With it, you can run various programs, surf the Internet and, of course, connect your android smartphone to show the screen. If in the case of Google’s Pixel, for example, it’s easy. It can be done directly from the notification panel. In other android smartphones, it can be a bit more complicated. For example in the Samsung Galaxy line of phones.
How to mirror the Samsung Galaxy screen using Chromecast
It’s pretty easy to do, as Chromecast is designed to pull off such tricks. First, you’ll need the Google Home app on your phone. If you have already downloaded it, all you need to do is:
- First, connect your phone and Chromecast to the same Wi-Fi network
- Open the Google Home app on your phone
- Tap on the Chromecast you want to mirror your phone
- Then select Cast my screen
- Next, tap the Cast screen button
- You will then see a privacy warning from Google. It will say that you should not enter any passwords in this mode or show any other sensitive data
- To agree to the rules and start streaming your screen to Chromecast, tap Start now
- When you have finished, just touch the Stop mirroring button. You can also change the volume using the Google Home app.
That’s all you need to demonstrate your screen with Chromecast. After that, you will be able to find all the controls of your demonstration in the Google Home app or access them from the notification bar.
It is worth remembering that the same screen mirroring supports smart displays from Google, you can install them at home. If you configure everything in the application Google Home and work in the same network Wi-Fi then also transfer the smartphone screen to Nest Home Hub or Nest Home Hub Max, following the same steps.
