One of the most widespread gaming consoles PS4 indeed earned its popularity. On the other side, there is nothing perfect in this world, and lots of PS4 users complained about one specific issue that bothers them – the Safe Mode.

To put it simply, Safe Mode on PS4 helps gamers to fix some problems while having gaming sessions or even when the console not turning on. But sometimes it may come up with inconveniences. One of them is the Safe Mode loop and it becomes quite a challenge for users to get out of it. This article will help you on how to get rid of the safe mode on PS4 in four ways:

  • #1: Restart Your PlayStation 4
  • #2: Check the Connected Cables
  • #3: Rebuild Corrupt Files
  • #4: Update Your PS4 System Software

Is restarting PS4 helps get out of Safe Mode

Restarting your device is the easiest and fastest way to solve the issue. Besides, this option will not damage the process saved on the game console.

To restart your PS4 to get it out of Safe Mode, you should follow these steps:

  • Connect a Dual Shock 4 controller to the PS4 using a USB cable
  • Go to the Safe Mode menu and chose Restart PS4 to exit

Is checking the connected cables worth a try

If the previous step isn’t working then there is definitely an option to check on cables.

Not being able to exit PS4 Safe Mode may be the cause of the failing USB, power, or HDMI cable.

In order to check cables’ integrity, go and try to connect USB/power/HDMI cables to other ports and wall sockets.

In case one of the cables is broken or failing, simply replace it. Otherwise, try power cycling your game console:

  • Hold the PS4 power button to whole turn off the console
  • When the power light indicator stops flashing, unplug the power cable and then leave the console for 10 minutes
  • Reconnect the power cable and turn the console on

 How to rebuild corrupt files

The corrupt files that are damaged, and don’t perform properly can also be the cause your PS4 is not able to get out of Safe Mode. In this way, you should rebuild the corrupt files, though be ready as this procedure may take some time depending on the amount of data of the PS4 hard drive.

It may require some time but apart from that the rest of work is pretty simple. All you need to do is to select Rebuild Database on the Safe Mode menu. By doing so, the program will create a new database for your PS4 games and applications.

How to update your PS4 system software

If you followed previous instructions and none of it helped – don’t give up, there is one more way to fix it. You can update the PS4 system software manually and it may help you to get out of the Safe Mode loop.

First, go to Safe Mode menu and select Update System Software, click on Update Using Internet and simply follow the pop-up instructions.

If case nothing changes after updating System Software and you are still stuck with PS4 Safe Mode, try the option Initialise PS4 (Reinstall System Software). After that, you need to follow the on-screen guide.

These four ways of getting out of Safe Mode on PS4 are the most common options to solve the problem, so you should try!
