Samsung recently introduced to the world its new Neo Quantum processor, which will be included in their TVs. You can read more about this device here. In this article, you can find out the technical characteristics of the processor. Now only information is available that the new TV sets will be equipped with Neo Quantum processor 4K and Neo Quantum processor 8K. But the Lite version will be integrated into cheaper models.
Neo Quantum processor 8K vs Quantum Processor 4K vs Quantum Processor 4K Lite
In general, there are three types of parameters for Samsung TVs. And on the basis of this, the processors were selected. These processors differ in that they have three different integrated graphics processors, accordingly, which screen resolution is supported by the TV.
Parameters such as frame rates and screen resolution are important. Another important parameter is the HDMI port standards supported. One thing is certain – the names Neo Quantum processor 8K, Quantum Processor 4K Lite, Quantum Processor 4K Lite are just commercial (marketing) processor names invented by Samsung, they aren’t technological names.

Neo QLED processor in Samsung TVs tech specs
If you want to dig deeper and understand the specification of the processors that Samsung uses, you should pay attention to the fact that their TVs are equipped with the developments of secondary companies. To be more precise, one in particular MediaTek.
If you look at the list of processors manufactured under the name MediaTek, you can easily find among the small number of products those very processors that Samsung bought.
Neo Quantum processor 8K specifications
The Neo Quantum processor 8K is a MediaTek S900 (MT9950) processor. This processor features support for 8K screen resolution. The processor is based on Arm Cortex-A73 cores with a frequency of 1.8GHz, 4 cores, and a graphics processor Arm Mali-G52 MC2 0.8Ghz. With the 96-bit LPDDR4 memory, the processor is able to support a maximum of 8.5GB of memory, the memory runs at 3.7GHz.
Neo Quantum processor 4K specifications
The Neo Quantum processor 4K provides a frame rate of 120 per second. There are two basic processors with such specs – MT9613, MT9612made by MediaTek.
Those are basic CPUs, for large TV makers can produce processor modifications. For example, the QN90A TV model supports the broadcast standard ATSC 3.0. This TV uses a modification of the processor specifically designed for Samsung.
