The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 mid-season update nerfed shields and introduced the first-ever Call of Duty cooperative raid. While fans still feel that the shield nerve was not strong enough, and some complain about the lack of matchmaking for the new raid, most consider the update a success, except those who encountered the dreaded “Dev Error 11557”.

According to Eurogamer, “Dev Error 11557” may appear immediately after the launch of Modern Warfare 2 and hinder the game’s progress. Fans affected by the error message could not find a workaround. Infinity Ward explained that the error message is likely due to file corruption and that the only way to fix it is to reinstall the game – all 100-plus gigabytes.

Some claim that the problem persists even after reinstalling. Infinity Ward suggests that those still suffering from the error message will likely have to go into the texture streaming cache and set a minimum size.

There were also many other minor issues in the mid-season update. Gamers may have noticed that their custom weapon builds were removed with the update, which appeared to be due to the use of gold camouflage. Weapon camouflage progression was also broken, but both problems have been fixed.
