Google has recently started to actively develop its Google Docs service. They are constantly adding more and more new features there. In particular, Google is developing different shortcuts that you can add after @ in your document. For example, Google recently added the ability to add Emotions. Now you can already try out the ability to add location labels from Google Maps.

Back last year, a feature was added where you could type in a Google Maps link after the @ sign and it would automatically generate a smart link. If you hover your mouse over it or click on it, a pop-up menu with the full address and the map view will appear. There will also be a button to go to Google Maps.

Now this chip can be even more useful because now you can enter the Google Docs address directly. So, after this update, you don’t have to separately look up the location on the maps and copy the link. A pop-up menu will open in front of you where you’ll find your address, then click on it and the Google Docs will reduce the object to the name of the place.

Now you will not have to open Google Maps in a separate window at all. You can get full information through the Google Docs app. This tag will give everyone who comes to your document all the information about the place that you have attached to your document. This feature started to be tested and distributed on August 22, 2022. All users around the world will have it available on September 8.
