Meta is a leading VR product company. Their Oculus (Meta) Quest 2 is the most popular virtual reality headset. Today this device has become very popular. More than 10 million devices have been sold so far. And now Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced the imminent release of a new virtual reality headset.
During a recent interview on The Joe Rogan Experience show (of all places), Mark Zuckerberg said that Meta is going to release a new VR headset this October. Most likely, the company will announce the device at the upcoming Connect event this fall. The exact date of this event is not yet available, but most likely it will be in October, as last year Connect was held in late October.
There have been rumors about a new headset from Meta called Project Cambria. According to Zuckerberg’s statements, the description of the new headset is very similar to the approximate description of this device. The businessman stated that the new headset will be able to translate users’ facial expressions into their virtual avatars, as well as it is able to track users’ eyes and help create an impression of “visual” contact in virtual universes. It is also rumored to have a number of other improvements and innovations.
Some also call this device Oculus Quest Pro. The device does not have an official name, but everything points to the fact that it will be released in October. For now, all the fans of VR is just waiting for the announcement of the new headset and hope that it will be able to bring something new to the emerging genre of VR entertainment.
