Samsung is known for its quality screens. They are one of the most in-demand and reliable monitors and TV manufacturers in the world. No wonder the company wants to continue to stay on top. In response to the recent Alienware 34-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor, Samsung showed its own QD-OLED gaming monitors from the Odyssey line.

On Wednesday, the company announced new Odyssey OLED G8 monitors. They should be available for purchase by the end of 2022. The Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first OLED gaming monitor. Just like its rivals from Alienware, Samsung has applied QD-OLED display technology in it.

A monitor will be the size of 34 inches. It has an ultra-slim curved screen with an aspect ratio of 21:9, a refresh rate of 175Hz, and a response time of up to 0.1 milliseconds. This makes it a very good gamer’s device.

In addition to the fast response time and refresh rate of the Odyssey OLED G8, which provide gamers with the lightning-fast response and real accuracy in various gaming environments, the monitor additionally features AMD FreeSync Premium for a smooth gaming experience,” is how Samsung themselves described the monitor.

Among other things, the monitor will also be equipped with Samsung Gaming Hub1 operating system. It will allow you to run on the monitor games from Xbox, Google Stadia and Nvidia GeForce Now. Also, users will be able to use the application Smart Hub from Samsung Smart TV. This means that this monitor will also become a “Smart Monitor”.

At the moment, nothing is known about the price yet. Samsung declined to comment on pricing. However, we can assume that the price will be at least $ 1300 for a similar monitor from Alienware.
