It wasn’t long ago that Amazon started working on its game streaming service with Luna, especially after Google Stadia closed. However, there is terrible news for fans of cloud gaming. Amazon’s Luna service is about to downsize its library, removing nearly 50 games.
The company said that Amazon’s game streaming service would lose at least 45 games in the next month. This is a big problem for Luna, as the service has been losing more games than it has been adding to its library lately. It is also an unpopular game that no one is interested in. Among the titles that will disappear from Amazon Luna are Resident Evil 7, Yakuza Zero, Yooka-Laylee, and Dirt 5.
Of course, this does not mean that Luna may close like its competitor Stage soon. However, it is one of the signals that Amazon is not very interested in its Luna service. And this is already a very negative signal because Stadia was closed. After all, Google stopped paying attention to the service, and the executives decided Stadia was not a good service. So Google eventually just decided to close it. Recently, however, Amazon made a statement to 9to5Google saying, “we will update our content offerings.” So all we have to do is keep watching how the service develops and hope we don’t lose one of the few cloud-based gaming services.
