Epic Games is on the track to stop Apple’s effort to pause antitrust trial. On Friday, October 22, 2021, the company opposed Apple’s effort to pause the trial, because of a potentially lengthy appeals process.

Recall that U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers in September struck down some Apple rules regarding the App Store, including prohibiting developers from offering payment methods other than in-app payments.

The company has until Nov. 9 to comply with the ruling, but Apple has asked a Circuit Judge to put the order on hold due to an appeal that could take more than a year.

For its part, Epic Games said that Apple has not followed the necessary procedure, which requires the company to prove that it could cause irreparable harm for the duration of the order if it is then overturned on appeal.
