Google Docs is a very handy tool for working on different text files together with your colleagues. You can edit documents together at the same time. However, only recently did the company add the ability to add emojis to a document. Now the company is preparing another update that will make it easier for users to insert emojis.

The fact is that previously you could add emotions to Google Documents only by copying them from another source or using a computer program of choice. This innovation was introduced by Google only in April.

Now you can add emojis directly from your keyboard. You just need to press the @ sign on your keyboard and then enter the name of the emotion. For example, @Smile for a smiling emotion. The finished document will instead display the emotion you specified. You will be able to insert any emotion that is already available on your Google Keyboard.

At the moment this feature is available to users with quick-release domains. The fact is that there are two types of domains: fast-release domains and scheduled-release domains. For Google Accounts, the default choice is scheduled to release domains, with them, users get access to new features one week after their release in the fast release domains.

This feature will be available to all users with personal Google accounts, as well as Google Workspace customers and old G Suite Basic and Business customers. The feature became available for quick release as early as Sept. 29 and will be added to over 15 days. Scheduled release domains will be phased out starting Sept. 12, 2022.
