A signature has always been considered an essential element of any document and an indispensable tool for confirming identity. With the development of technology, many operations that were previously performed on paper have started to take place online.

Although with the development of technologies there are many other identifiers for proving identity thanks to the network, some people think that it’s a good fashion to put a sign next to the messages sent to someone.

About how to put a signature when you send messages from iPhone further.

How to set up a phrase which will work as a signature on iPhone

At the moment, there is no function on iPhone that will let you create a signature for a text message on the Apple iPhone, unlike it’s possible to do for an e-mail.

Sure, you can find a few apps on iTunes that claim to be able to do this for you. However, don’t be too quick to use them.

These apps are all pretty cheesy, cost a lot of money, and are very inconvenient to use. You have to switch between text and the app to insert a signature. There is no point in having an app that promises to do everything but doesn’t do it automatically.

Luckily, there is a way to add a signature element to the end of all your outgoing text messages, including iMessage.

You can do this with a specific keyboard shortcut. It only takes a minute to set up such a shortcut, and you can easily insert it at the end of every text message.

In addition to a signature, you can use this method for any phrases you regularly type into a message. For example, a URL, phone number, address, or anything else you use frequently. Just follow these steps to create a new keyboard shortcut and then use it while you type.

To create a keyboard shortcut:

  1. First, unlock your iPhone and on the Home screen, open Settings.
  2. Find the “General” section and go to it.
  3. While in the above section, scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the “Keyboard” field. Click on it.
  4. Select “Replace Text”.
  5. In the upper right corner, select “+” to add a new keyboard shortcut.
  6. Next you will see a “Phrase” box. In it, type what you want to use as a label or caption in your text messages. When entering a new phrase, remember that texts should be short, so don’t create something insanely long.
  7. In the “Label” box, enter the 2-3 letter shortcut you will use to make that caption appear in your text.
  8. When you’re done, confirm the changes. To do this, click the “Save” button in the upper right corner of the screen.

How to use your signature after you’re finished with setting it

To use your signature while you’re typing, enter the combination of characters you typed in the “Label” field in the seventh step. As you type in the characters you need, you’ll be prompted to correct them with a previously added word combination, just as with autocorrect.

By doing this, you can easily and effortlessly add your signature wherever you require it. The main thing is to remember which characters are the key to adding a signature. Of course, if you need to sign an electronic document, this method won’t work.

In most cases, when such a need arises, the company that requires an electronic signature in advance provides a field in which with a sensor you can draw your signature manually. So you don’t need any special methods in this case.

If you aren’t satisfied with the method described above, you can of course check your messenger for a function that allows putting a signature or use a special app for that. However, the result will be barely better than adding a phrase.
