What is an IP address

Why do you need to change your Internal IP Address
You don’t necessarily need to change your IP address. This procedure will help you increase the security of your router. If someone tries to hack into your router and access your data, they need your IP Address. If it is the default IP address from the factory, it will be very easy to break-in.
How do you log in to your Asus router
To change any of your router settings, you need to log in to your router. This means you need administrator rights. To find out your router’s administrator password and login, look underneath your router. All information should be on a sticker on the bottom. Next, you need to :
- Connect your device to the Wi-Fi
- Open the web browser on your device
- Enter your IP address (192.168.1.1) at the input field where you normally type your web address
- Press Enter
- Login with your admin login and password
How do you change your Internal IP Address
If you want to change the IP address of your router, here are the instructions how to do it. The steps may vary slightly depending on your Asus router model.
- Log in to your router using your computer
- Click LAN in the sidebar
- Then select LAN IP at the top of the page
- Activate the box labeled IP Address with your cursor
- Enter the new address
- Click Accept
How to find an IP address
If you want to find out your IP address, you can do it with your PC, Mac or Smartphone. To do that, you have to follow the steps below:
For Mac
- Hover your cursor over the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right corner of your screen
- Using your keyboard, press and hold the Option button while clicking on the Wi-Fi icon
- A drop-down menu will appear, where you will find your IP address
For PC
- Open the Control Panel
- Click on View Network status and tasks under Network and Internet
- Click on the Network name in the upper right-hand corner
- Then click on “Details” and your Asus router IP will be displayed there
For iPhone
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap on Wi-Fi
- Tap on your Network name
- The routers IP Address will appear to the right of “Router“
