For years, PS players have been saving money on games by buying one game for two without having any trouble playing together, even if they live in different cities. Sony added the ability to share digital copies of games with other players on its PlayStation 4 console. This feature has migrated to the PlayStation 5 as well.

The world of the gaming industry is getting closer and closer to the point where physical discs are being used less and less often, or gone altogether. The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S are the first time we can buy a major console at launch without a disc drive, which has caused concern among gamers who like to share their games with friends and family. Fortunately, the PS5, like the PlayStation 4, has a feature that allows you to do this. However, with each new console comes a new interface and system to navigate. So, here is game share on PS5 in a few simple steps.

How to game share on PS5

If you want to game share on your PS5, you have to follow these steps:

  • First of all, sign in to your PlayStation Network account on your PS5.
  • Then, click on the gear icon to open the “Settings” menu from the main menu.
  • After that, select “Users and Accounts”.
  • Scroll down and choose the “Other” option.
  • Next, choose “Console Sharing and Offline Play”. If the text says that this option is enabled on your PS5, it means that you cannot use gameshare and you need to select the option to disable.
  • Log out of your PlayStation Network account on your PS5 and sign in with your PlayStation Network account on the console you want to gameshare with.
  • Go to the same menu and select “Don’t Disable” in the “Console Sharing and Offline Play” menu.
  • Finally, log out of your PlayStation Network account on this console.

Once you have completed these steps, you will be able to share games with your friends and family from your PlayStation Network account.

Does the game-sharing feature work both ways

Once the person you are sharing games with logs back in through their PlayStation Network account, they will have access to any of your compatible games from their PS5. Use this feature wisely. As far as we know, you can only share games with one person, so make the right decision. If the worst happens, you can disable the feature and then try everything from the beginning to share with someone else.

The game-sharing feature works both ways. Whoever you share with will get access to your library, and you will get access to any games on their console. Say goodbye to the days of sharing discs. The modern and much more convenient way to share games remains. Don’t forget that you can still swap game discs if you have them. That’s all you have to know about game share on PS5.
