How to manage Closed Captioning on DirecTV

DirecTV Now is one of the many video streaming services owned by AT&T. The company also offers a cable TV service called DirecTV.

Closed Captioning is an extended captioning service that not only renders the dialogues but also all the audio information on the screen (such as the sound of a door opening), so it is the best way to enjoy watching content in case you have hearing problems.

How to turn off or on Closed Captioning on DirecTV

DirecTV is the cable TV service offered by AT&T and it supports Closed Captioning, but they’re disabled by default. However, you can turn it on if needed. To do this, you should do the following:

  • Take your remote
  • Press the ‘Information’ button
  • Find the CC option in the menu
  • Activate Closed Captioning

Also, DirecTV allows you to adjust the size and color of captioning to your needs, so you can easily change the way how the Closed Captioning looks like:

  • Take the remote
  • Open the menu
  • Go to the ‘Accesibility’ submenu
  • Change Closed Captioning settings if you want
  • Exit menu once you’ve ended setting up

DirecTV now is a streaming service offered by AT&T and it supports Closed Captioning as well. Innitially, captions are disabled, but you can activate them if you want to. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Log in to DirecTV Now
  • Go to ‘Settings’
  • Find ‘Captioning’
  • Select ‘Edit’
  • Choose the language and choose the one you need
  • Save the changes
