Since the iPad has a large screen, you can optimize your work on it by simultaneously displaying several applications on the screen and freezing their display in this position; for this purpose, there is Split View mode. The advantage of Split View is that you can work with two applications at the same time without closing the inactive application, which is convenient if you are comparing something or waiting for the start of the broadcast of some event; on one screen, you can do something, and the second screen is always in front of you. Here are the options for working in Split View mode.

I have collected the options for managing Windows in multitasking mode in a single table for your convenience.

2. Tap the Split View button.
3. Choose whether to place the app on the left or right side of the screen.

Adjust the size of apps to display in Split View

In Split View, your iPad will initially split the screen equally between the two apps. You can change the size by dragging the gray line between the apps. The proportions will be locked in predefined positions: 50-50, 75-25, or 25-75 in landscape mode, and 60-30 or 30-60 in portrait mode. If you move the slider too far to the side, the app will close and the remaining active app will return to full screen.

Exiting Split View

Exiting Split View is easy. Just do one of the following:

  1. Use the three-dot menu: Tap the three dots on the app you want to close and select Close.
  2. Drag the screen divider: Drag the gray line to the edge of the screen to close one app and return the remaining app to full screen.
