It’s a lot of fun to share music with others, and that’s why you’ll want to know how to use Spotify Blend. Spotify has added a new feature called “Blend”, which allows you to create a joint playlist with a friend or family member. It’s a very intimate way to share music with others that should come in handy during your next trip, for example.

Spotify Blend allows you to combine your favorite songs with those of your friends into one shared playlist, offering customized artwork and “taste scores” so you can see how much your music preferences match your friends’ music preferences.

Spotify Blend is available to all Spotify users, with free and premium subscriptions. Users have long been able to manually create shared playlists. but now Blend will do all the hard work for you. All you have to do is follow a few simple steps. It should be noted that this feature is limited to two users only on mobile devices.

Anyway, here’s how to use Spotify Blend to combine your and your friends’ favorite songs in one playlist.

What is Spotify Blend

Spotify has released Blend along with “Only You,” a new interface in the app with listening statistics and personalized playlists. This feature shows personalized stats that highlight your range of listening interests, or “Your Genres/Themes”, which gives you a unique combination of music genres and podcasts that define your listening experience.

Spotify Blend, on the other hand, embodies the human desire to share our favorite tracks with our closest friends and family. This feature allows two people to combine their musical tastes into a carefully selected playlist that “blends” their preferences. Once created, Blend’s playlist will be updated daily, depending on how users’ habits change over time.

Who can create Spotify Blend playlists

Currently, the feature is only available to mobile users (with an Android or iOS device) who have a free or premium account on Spotify. Since this feature has just begun to be implemented, it may not appear for everyone.

If you can’t find it on Spotify, be sure to update the app to the latest version and try again. If you still don’t see it, you may have to wait for it to become available in your region.

How to create a Spotify Blend playlist

Creating a Spotify Blend playlist is quite easy. Keep in mind that the friend you want to mix your music with will also need to have the Spotify app installed on their device for this to work properly. So, if you want to create a Spotify Blend playlist, you have to follow these steps:

  • First of all, open the Spotify app on your mobile device.
  • Then, tap on the “Search” button at the bottom of the display.
  • After that, find and tap on the “Made for you” button.
  • You will see the “Create a Blend” option at the top left corner of the screen.
  • Tap on the “+” icon against the green background.
  • Next, tap on the “Invite” button.
  • The “Share” menu will appear. You can send the invitation via one of the social apps you use, or copy the link to share it. Keep in mind that invitation links can be used only once. When someone clicks the link, it automatically expires.

Once you’ve sent the invitation, all you have to do is wait. When another person joins Blend, you will receive a notification on your phone. Go back and check Spotify and you should see that a new playlist has been created. Tap on it to view it. The list should include the most popular songs of the participants. You can also download tracks if you want to access the playlist offline.

In addition, you can tap on the “three dots” icon at the top to open a menu that allows you to perform several actions. You can exit Blend, which will delete the playlist. Or you can add it to your profile and even create a shortcut for it on the home screen.
