Lenovo introduces the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2 flip-down laptop. This is another new step in the direction of laptops with folding screens. The price of this device starts at $2,499. Along with that, it won’t be available to order until November.
What specs does the new Lenovo ThinkPad x1 Fold have?
After numerous complaints from first-generation ThinkPad X1 Fold users, the processor of the new device has been upgraded. The Gen 2 version comes with Intel 12th generation processors and improved integrated graphics. The company will ship the ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2 with up to 1TB of SSD storage and up to 32GB of DDR5 ram.
Also, the main external difference between the ThinkPad X1 Folds and the second generation is the size of 16 inches, which is 22 percent larger. At the same time, it’s 25 percent thinner than the previous model.
The size of the new X1 Fold is 13.6 x 10.87 x 0.34 inches when unfolded and 10.87 x 6.9 x 0.68 inches when closed. The system weighs only 2.82 pounds on its own, but with the stand and keyboard, it increases to 4.19 pounds.
Another change is the abandonment of the leather outer shell in favor of a new recycled PET Woven Performance fabric. Thus, the company Lenovo introduced a new device with a lot of useful changes.
In general, these updates were able to interest many people, as the company has improved the weaknesses of the device by releasing the second generation.
