Twitter has always been pretty strict in its policy of editing Tweets. Once you’ve published a tweet, you can’t edit it anymore. This made sure that the Tweet was exactly as it was and helped avoid confusion, for example, if you retweeted one post and then the author changed the content altogether.
However, now the company has started testing the function of editing tweets. This is something that Twitter users have been asking for for a long, long time. Of course, this feature works with some limitations.
For now, the test editing feature is available in countries such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Also, it can only be used by subscribers of paid Twitter Blue. Except that you can make no more than 5 edits and only within 30 minutes after posting. If it’s been more than 30 minutes, you can’t edit your Tweet anymore.
To edit a Tweet users just need to click on the three dots at the top of the Tweet and select Edit Tweet. You should also remember that the Tweets will say Edited. In addition, all users will be able to access the history of editing.
The main disadvantage of this feature, as the company says, is that if somebody retweets a post and the author then edits it, it can be inconvenient for the person who retweeted it. The edit history should help remedy this situation. However, for now it is unclear how popular this feature will be given that it is only available to Twitter Blue subscribers.
