In Europe, there are many models of the Crystal 2024 TV series, but in reality, there are only four variations that differ in technical specifications: DU7000, DU8000, DU8500, and DU9000. To differentiate the TV models by country, Samsung uses a simple system of slightly modified model numbers. While a TV purchased in Poland will work perfectly in Germany, it will not be covered by warranty there. In case of a breakdown, it will need to be taken to Poland for repair.

This is how Samsung minimizes possible warranty repair costs.

Differences between the Crystal UHD 2024 TV models

These are inexpensive TVs with a 60Hz, 8-bit FRC display and EDGE backlighting with two LED lines at the bottom of the screen. The use of HDR and local dimming is limited: although HDR support is mentioned in all models, these TVs can only show a fraction of the true potential of this technology due to screen limitations. The TVs do not meet the requirements for showing HDR content. Local dimming is also claimed, but if the TV has EDGE backlighting, it is only possible to dim half of the screen, which is very rare in movie scenes, local dimming is almost non-existent in these TVs.

Differences between the models:

  • DU7000, DU7100 and DU7200: This model has three HDMI ports and one USB port. The screens used are the cheapest, and the remote is battery operated and has no bluetooth. This is a Smart remote control but only works on infrared signals, you can not control the TV by voice and use voice search. The difference between all models only in design, for example, there may be a different color stand or frame around the screen, design for modern TVs has lost its relevance.
  • DU8000: This model has a different motherboard and the screens are slightly improved compared to the previous model, the screen vendor is different from the previous model. The number of USB ports has been increased to two. The TM2360E remote control has a microphone and a solar panel for charging, and the remote can also be charged via the USB-C port. The 85-inch version of the TV, features a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, indicating a higher quality panel. However, the TV has some limitations at the operating system level, such as the lack of support for multi-viewing (two screens from different sources).
  • DU8500: offers additional software features such as Multi-View, which allows you to display two pieces of content simultaneously. The TM2360E remote control is included. More features are open at the software level in this model.
  • DU9000: This model has the largest screen and is similar to the DU8500, but belongs to the 9 series in terms of screen size and 120Hz refresh rate. After Chinese manufacturers mastered the production of 98 inch LED screens, TVs of this size became massively available, but of course more expensive. And you need to understand if it makes sense to overpay for 13 inches of 1000$.
