Valve has finally released a redesigned version of the Steam mobile app for Android and iOS, which has been in testing since at least August of this year. When the company sought beta testers for the app, it said it had redesigned it entirely. The company also equipped the app with new features, including logging in with QR codes.

The new login method allows you to access your Steam account without entering your username and password. Two-factor authentication credentials are stored in your smartphone and used for identity verification. If you use the QR method to enter Steam, the app will show you a confirmation page with detailed information after scanning the code with your phone.

If you prefer to use your username and password to log in, the app will still ask if you want to accept or reject the login attempt. And if you want to make sure you don’t have a device connected to your account that shouldn’t be connected, you can now view and revoke access if necessary on the Authorized Devices page.

The new Steam mobile app also displays all your games in the Library. If you click on the game cover image in the list, you’ll find an option to download the game remotely to your PC and delete the game.

Other new features include improved store browsing on mobile displays and customizable Steam notifications for sales, deals, friend requests, and other categories. Judging from the announcement, Valve is also working on implementing QR sign-in on Steam Deck and adding an authorized devices page to the Steam client and browser.
