Almost immediately after the folding smartphone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 announcement, their competitors from the company Xiaomi showed their new folding smartphone Mix Fold 2. Apparently, it will be filled with high-tech features that can compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The first thing you should pay attention to is the size of the smartphone. The new Mix Fold 2 will be very thin for a foldable smartphone, so its thickness will be 5.4 mm open and 11.2 mm closed. This means that it leaves room for a USB-C port. At the same time, the Samsung smartphone will be 15.8 mm when closed.

Xiaomi applied in this device technology “micro water drop hinge”, which allowed to make this device very thin. In addition, it made the smartphone very light. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said about this smartphone: “Every aspect of the experience matters when it comes to premium smartphones.

Among the minuses is a slightly reduced battery. While the first version of the smartphone had a 5020 mAh battery, the Mix Fold 2 will only have a 4500 mAh battery. Despite this, the smartphone supports fast charging and the company claims that it will be charged in 40 minutes completely.

If we talk about the stuffing, the Mix Fold 2 will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Harman Kardon speakers, NFC support, and up to 1TB of storage. It also has a fairly high-quality Leica camera.

Pre-orders are available today. However, sales to start with will only be in China. Most likely soon the smartphone will be released worldwide.
