Apple has decided to cancel the release of the compact iPhone SE 4th generation, which was planned for spring 2024. This is reported by renowned analyst and insider Ming-Chi Kuo, citing sources in the supply chain.
In late December 2022, Kuo said that Apple was considering postponing or altogether abandoning the release of the next-generation iPhone SE. Now we’re talking specifically about canceling the release. One of the main reasons is that Apple hasn’t achieved the necessary sales indicators.
Earlier publication Bloomberg wrote that the base models of the iPhone 14 significantly lost sales to the iPhone 14 Pro. According to the analyst, the beneficiary of the iPhone SE cancellation will be Qualcomm. The compact iPhone SE was supposed to be a testing ground for modems designed by Apple itself. The iPhone 16 may continue to be equipped with Qualcomm’s wireless communications chip.
