Just recently, The Los Angeles Times received news that Blizzcon, one of the biggest geek culture events of all time, will take place next year, 2023. According to Mike Ybarra himself, the company truly intends to organize the most famous fan convention.

The head of the company responsible for such iconic franchises as World of Warcraft and Diablo, specifically stated that “We previously announced we’re taking a pause on BlizzCon while we reimagine it for the future but do want to return to a live event that enables us to celebrate the community,” and then added “We recently hired a new leader of BlizzCon, April McKee, who is hard at work on that plan….. We are committed to bringing back BlizzCon in 2023.”

The answer to when exactly will happen event no one knows, even Activision Blizzard itself when asked direct questions referred to Ybarra and his interview with The Los Angeles Times. Recall that the last live event was organized back in 2019 before COVID-19 became a hindrance for subsequent meetings. And although a virtual “BlizzConline” event was held in 2021, in 2022 it was canceled altogether due to the company’s internal toxic work culture becoming known.

It also became known that not only Blizzcon will be held next year. For example, no less famous E3, which takes place annually in June, wasn’t held this year in any form, however, next year the company still gave an announcement about the physical and digital format in 2023. In addition, Summer Game Fest will also please fans of video games and conferences with a digital and in-person event as well.
