Google Sheets is one of the most convenient services to work with tables for different purposes and it seems that all possible improvements have long been thought of. But this isn’t the case, as it turns out.

Google has announced that Sheets has added support for dropdown chips. That is, it will make task management even easier.

It will work so that you can add drop-down tokens in the spreadsheet’s cells and assign different colors to them. These colors will serve as an additional visual indicator. This will let you know at a glance the status of things.

This doesn’t seem to be a new feature for many services. Yes, it really is, because different applications such as gliders have been using it for a long time, but it was never used in the tables.

It’s also not all the changes that are waiting for us all. Now you can see and edit all the rules which were created on the specific tab “Sheets”, and new rules can be added from the sidebar.

Google representatives have said that the workflow is now similar to how you set up rules for named ranges, protected ranges, and conditional formatting.
