At the world’s leading electronics show, CES 2023, the Chinese company Hisense officially launched the world’s first 8K laser TV, the 120LX. Let us remind you that a laser TV isn’t exactly a TV. It consists of a short-focus projector with a laser backlight and a large screen. In this case, the novelty produces a 120-inch image with a resolution of 7680 × 4320 pixels.
The system also includes four independent speakers made by Harman/Kardon with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X technology. It allows the laser TV to create surround sound effects.
The area of the enormous screen is four square meters, which can display 33,000,000 pixels. The projector uses an ultra-short-focus system and a lens with a variable viewing area.
It’s not yet known how much the novelty will cost. However, most likely, the price will start from $10,000. Sales are likely to start by the end of 2023.
