Google Stadia is shutting down soon

Google Stadia, the company’s cloud-based gaming service that became a reality not too long ago, will be shut down on Jan. 18.

Google spokeswoman Patrick Seybold announced that Stadia would disappear forever on January 18 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Google is also refunding all purchases of Stadia software in the Stadia Store and hardware in the Google Store. Returns processing began as early as November. They hope they can process the refunds in time to close. If you’re expecting a refund, too, keep an eye on your mail for that, you should get a confirmation.

Also if you paid your Stadia Pro subscription before September 29, 2022, you would not receive a refund. Players with an active Stadia Pro subscription as of September 29, 2022, will not be charged for library Pro access or other subscription rights during the shutdown period. This was reported in the Google Stadia help section, and you can also find the answer to your question there.
