All you need to do is plug it in and it can become your assistant every day. Most of its functions are related to the Internet. Therefore, it is very important that it is always connected to the network. In addition to the speaker, Alexa is her main speaker function. To unlock all of its functions, you first need to connect your Amazon Echo to Wi-Fi.

How to connect the speaker to the WiFi

It’s pretty easy to do. But before you do that, you should definitely download and install the Alexa APP for your phone. You’ll also need to create an Amazon account for yourself to use Alexa with your Echo. Then you need to :

  • Open the Alexa App and sign in to your Amazon account
  • Next, click on the hamburger menu in the bottom right corner and select “Add Device
  • You will see all Alexa-enabled devices in your account. You will need to select “Amazon Echo”
  • Next, you will need to select the model of your speaker
  • After that you will enter the settings mode, the ring on the speaker should be flashing blue and then orange. If the speaker is not flashing orange, press and hold the Action button for at least five seconds, then Alexa will say, “Now in setup mode
  • Alexa APP will prompt you to close and open your phone’s Wi-Fi Settings. Find a network named Amazon and connect it to your phone or device
  • Once you return to Alexa APP, you’ll see a list of WiFi networks. Select your home network
  • Alexa should then tell you “Your Echo is ready

There are several possible causes for this problem. Most often it is a problem with the WIFI. First you should check your router and your router. You should also place your speaker closer to the signal source so that no devices or walls will interfere with your access to the internet. You may also have a problem with too many devices connected to the network and not enough bandwidth left. Also check the Wi-Fi frequency, because the wrong channel can occasionally disrupt the connection.

There are some basic steps you can take to fix this problem. The main ones are :

  • Reboot your device – unplug it, wait a few minutes and try plugging it back in. You can also try to disconnect your router and your router
