Disney+ is a popular streaming service that is available on multiple platforms, including Samsung TVs. If you have a modern TV model, installing and watching content through Disney+ won’t be a hassle. However, if your TV was released before 2016, it does not support this app.
It’s important to understand that apps for streaming services are designed with operating system versions in mind; Samsung uses OS Tizen for its TVs. Older Samsung TV models have OS versions that are unsupported by modern streaming service platforms. Outdated versions of OS Tizen, although supported by Disney+, to stream content to such devices, Disney+ must develop and maintain separate software on its servers. However, if the number of users using Disney+ on older TVs decreases significantly over time, support for these models could be discontinued, and the apps would stop working.
Of course, this will not happen shortly, but this prospect exists, and it is inevitable in the long term.
List of Samsung TV models compatible with Disney Plus
Disney+ works on TVs running Tizen 3.0 or later, meaning TVs from 2017, though note that this year some TV models were running Tizen 2.4, which doesn’t support Disney Plus.

Installing Disney Plus on Samsung TVs
Go to the Applications menu on the Home screen.
Use the remote control to select the search icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Type “Disney+” on the on-screen keyboard and press “Done.”
When the app appears on the screen, select “Install“.
Once installed, tap “Open” and log in using your Disney+ credentials.
Necessary: If the app doesn’t appear in your search results, your TV may not support Disney+, or the service may not be available in your area.
How to watch Disney+ on older models of Samsung Smart TVs
If your TV does not support the Disney+ app, there are alternative ways to access the platform. The simplest and most optimal solution is to use a streaming device such as a FireStick or Roku that connects to your TV via HDMI. Of course, there are other ways that can be used, but they are not as practical as using streaming devices, such as connecting a laptop to the TV or mirroring the phone screen to the TV.
