Since 2022, streaming services have become widespread, and today almost every major media company is developing its own platform. Most of these services focus on movies and TV series, but sports fans have a separate demand: live broadcasts of matches and tournaments. One of the key services in this area is ESPN.

ESPN (ESPN+) is a major sports media service offering live broadcasts, match replays, analytical programs, statistics, and exclusive content. Through the ESPN app, users can subscribe to ESPN+, which provides access to the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, MLS, UFC, college sports, tennis, and other competitions.

Does ESPN work on LG Smart TV?

Starting in 2023, ESPN and ESPN+ are officially available on LG smart TVs. LG has added a separate ESPN app to the LG Content Store. Initially, support was provided for TVs released in 2020 and later, but the app was later adapted for older LG TV models. Since early 2026, the ESPN app has been available on LG smart TVs from 2016 and newer running webOS 3.0. This means that most modern LG smart TVs can access ESPN and ESPN+ through the LG Content Store.

To install ESPN on an LG TV, start by opening the LG Content Store from the home screen of your television. Using the built-in search function, type in “ESPN” and wait for the results to appear. When the official ESPN application shows up, select it and proceed with the installation. The app will be downloaded and added directly to your TV, just like any other native streaming service.

After the installation is finished, open the ESPN app and sign in with your existing ESPN or ESPN+ account. Once you are logged in, the application functions in the same way as it does on other supported platforms. You will have access to live sports broadcasts, full match replays, highlights, and on-demand content, all directly from your LG Smart TV without the need for any external devices.
