How to unban someone in Discord

Today, Discord really deserves a lot of attention. This platform combines features such as voice, video, or text chat, data sharing, streaming, and much more. Discord is the most popular chat room for in-game communication among gamers. It is currently available on operating systems such as Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. As for the PS4, the Discord app is currently in development and is scheduled for release in 2022.

Discord offers many interesting features, such as communicating with other gamers or friends through groups and servers. However, all members of the group or server understand that spamming and trolling may be forbidden. If they do not abide by these rules, the server moderators have the right to ban them.

But what do you do if you banned someone by accident or the ban has already expired for one of the server members? In that case, you will most likely have to unban the user. So, here is how to do this.

How to unban someone on Discord using computer

You should keep in mind that you can only do this if you are a server administrator. If you’re a Mac, Windows, or Chromebook user, the process is the same. So, if you want to unban someone on Discord, you have to follow these steps:

  • First of all, open Discord on your computer.
  • Then, go to the channel or server from which you want to unban someone.
  • Click on the down arrow in the rop left of the screen next to the server name.
  • In the drop-down menu, select “Server Settings”.
  • Click on the “Bans” tab in the bottom left side. A list of banned users should appear.
  • Select the user you want to unban.
  • Finally, a pop-up message appears asking you to select whether you want to revoke the ban. Just click “Revoke Ban”.

Once you have completed these steps, the member will be able to use the server again.

How to unban someone on Discord on Android or iOS

If you want to unban someone on Discord on your Android or iOS device, you have to follow these steps:

  • At first, open the Discord app on your mobile device.
  • After that, select the server from which you want to unban someone.
  • Tap on the “three dots” icon next to the server name.
  • Tap on the “Settings” icon.
  • Then, tap on the “Bans” tab and select the name of the member you want to unban.
  • Finally, tap “Revoke Ban”.

Once you have completed these steps, the member will be able to use the server again.

You should also be aware that bans in Discord can be permanent. Server bans occur when a moderator bans a member from accessing a particular server. This means that any user using the same IP address will not be able to access that server either. This ban does not have to be permanent. A moderator can decide to remove the ban from that person, and then that person will be allowed to access the server again.

Nevertheless, there are also system-wide bans. If you violate the rules of Discord itself, you may be banned permanently.
