Instagram quite often gives users new features. The company is now testing alpha, in which authors can share video content directly to Reels from some third-party integrated apps. This will allow them to use the tools they are comfortable with without interrupting their workflow.

Reels itself said this and added that, for now, the testing is being done by a small group of developers. These developers specialize in video creation and editing. They are working on getting more experts to join them in 2023.

They also said the test differs from Instagram’s content publishing API since the API is designed for businesses that consolidate information sharing with social media platforms in their third-party applications. The Share to Reels widget being tested allows mobile apps to add a widget for consumers.

They plan to make it so that creators using one of the apps in the test group can create and edit their videos in those apps. Then click the share button and tap the Instagram Reels icon, which takes them to the Instagram camera.

Also to customize their videos with audio, effects, stickers, and voiceover at this stage, as well as record additional clips or add them from the camera roll. Also, add a caption, hashtag, or location, tag others, or use a paid partnership tag.

After users click Share, the clip will be visible wherever the creator normally shares content.
