RTX Video Super Resolution is Nvidia’s new AI resolution enhancement tool, although it’s not designed to make your games look or perform better. However, it will be pretty handy for gamers because it takes regular 1080p videos from your browser and converts them to 4K.

The new tool uses artificial intelligence to improve streaming video quality for owners of the latest Nvidia video cards. It works by removing block compression artifacts and then increasing video resolution. This cleans up the input data and then bloats it to the big screen. Judging by Nvidia’s videos about this feature, the only option is to increase the resolution from 1080p to 4K.

Nvidia claims that the result should significantly improve video clarity on high-resolution displays, where otherwise, the image might look a bit worse. The company’s CES 2023 Special Address showed a clip of Apex Legends that looks much better with RTX Video Super Resolution enabled.
