Sonos and Ikea have announced a new product, Symfonisk. Symfonisk is a new floor lamp speaker. The $260 Symfonisk floor standing speaker will be available in stores and on the Ikea website beginning in January. This product will now look like this:
The design has been significantly updated. The second-generation Symfonisk will now have long legs extending from the bottom and extending down to a round base.
But most importantly, this lamp is now a speaker. The new speaker comes with a bamboo lampshade, but you can buy a replacement with different textures and materials.
You’ll need two to use the Symfonisk as a speaker or surround sound speaker for your home. Symfonisk bookshelf, lamp, and wall art speakers can double up and be used as surround back speakers for any Sonos soundbars.
It’s hard to compare the old Symfonisk model to the new high-legged model. The new design may not suit every home since the bamboo lampshade may be too garish.
And the black feet might not go with the rest of the furniture style. So, in my opinion, the older Symfonisk model in white is a more advantageous look. I think after the release in January, the companies won’t give up on this and will create several types of lamps.
