The Federal Trade Commission said Monday, March 29, 2021, that it will not appeal its appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court against Qualcomm Inc. Earlier, the commission said Qualcomm violated antitrust laws when it sold smartphone chips.

Also, in October, the 9th-1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said it would not reopen the anti-corruption dispute against Qualcomm. The dispute revolved around anti-competitive patent licensing practices to maintain a monopoly in the smartphone modem chip market. The company was acquitted by the court because the court ruled that the Federal Trade Commission failed to prove its case.
