If you often play games on your iPhone, you’ve probably already thought about buying a controller for your smartphone. Recently there is another interesting offer that you can take advantage of. Razer has announced its new Kishi V2 gamepad for iPhones.
Razer announced the new generation of their controllers back in June. At first, only the version for Android phones was released. However, on September 1, the company introduced an iPhone version of its gamepad inspired by the Nintendo Switch.
With it, you can play your favorite games without having to use the touch controls on your smartphone. It’s pretty handy for different more complex games like Call of Duty Mobile or PUBG. Also, the gamepad will support services like Google Stadia, GeForce Now, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. You can also use it to play Xbox or PlayStation consoles using remote play apps.
Only iOS 15.4 or newer is a technical limitation. Otherwise, you’ll most likely need to remove your case as the gamepad sits right on top of your smartphone. Razer Kishi V2 is compatible with the following iPhones:
- iPhone 13 series
- iPhone 12 series
- iPhone 11 series
- iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR
- iPhone X
- iPhone 8 models
- iPhone 7 models
- iPhone 6s models
- All iPhone SE models
“We’re bringing Razer’s 16 years of innovation from PC and console gaming to the iOS mobile space with true, universal compatibility for iPhone gamers everywhere,” said Razer head of mobile and console gaming Richard Hashim. “Players on the iOS platform can expect an enhanced, ultra-premium experience when using the Kishi V2 mobile controller, designed exclusively for the iPhone.”
The gamepad also supports a Share button that will allow you to set up a quick capture of screenshots or video clips. In addition, you get access to the Razer Nexus app, which users can launch at the touch of a button to access the installed games, streaming on YouTube, and much more.
The price for this gamepad is $99. You can buy it at local hardware stores or directly from Razer’s online store in some markets.
