Elon Musk introduced new rules. These rules deal with what you can link to on Twitter. posting links to any competing social platform, in any form, is now against the rules.

Twitter has said that they will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on their site.

They also said they would remove accounts created solely to promote other social platforms. As well as content containing links or usernames from the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post.

But so far, there is no information about the ability to share a link to something using the Twitter button of the available share options.

So, you can still post your latest updates on Instagram, and it won’t be a violation of the rules. But posting a direct link to your IG profile would be a violation.

Based on that, the question of how to get around it comes to mind. For example if you write dot in the links to social media platforms. That way it won’t create a URL. Or make a screenshot of your profile nickname or just. But Twitter said that this will also lead to deletion.
