Now WhatsApp is testing picture-in-picture mode for video calls for iOS. It will work so that you will be able to minimize a video call while you open other apps. The company says the feature is in beta testing and will become widely available next year.

This feature should minimize your call, allowing you to access other apps. In fact, if this is available on all devices, many users will appreciate this feature. Because quite often during a video call you need to minimize the video call and let you open another app to get some information.

Some Android devices already allow you to use picture-in-picture mode in certain applications, including WhatsApp. However, this is not the case on the iPhone. Although there is a picture-in-picture feature in iOS 14, it doesn’t work with WhatsApp.

So we should hope that after the test, iPhone users will be able to communicate with someone through a video call and at the same time surf the net or play a game.

It’s also likely to change. It is worth expecting that during a conversation with people who have the camera off, will appear wavy images. Also, when someone will join the call on the screen will appear banner notifications.
