Discord is now expanding its server subscription program. This will allow more creators to start charging subscription fees for premium access and privileges.
Discord creator product manager Derek Lang said that Discord creators could make money directly on their server because they have expanded the availability of server subscriptions.
What criteria does the server have to meet?
This will work so that services will be able to enable subscriptions if they meet minimum criteria, such as:
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must have a verified email and phone number
- Two-factor authentication must be enabled
- Must have an account in good standing
This will work so that creators can initiate one or more subscription levels and set prices.
Discord will charge a portion of the profits to itself, but in my opinion, that’s a pretty low percentage. Discord is proposing a 90/10 split of revenue.
According to the rules, user payments will be made 30 days after the end of the calendar month. Also, creators must accumulate at least $100 for the first payout and at least $25 for each subsequent monthly payout.
