This is the feature I’ve been waiting for my whole life, you can now edit a DM in Instagram within 15 minutes of it being posted if you made a typo or want to change your writing. you now have time to fix the post.
It really annoyed me that every time I made a typo, I had to either send another message to clarify what I meant or delete the post and send a new one.
Now, you have to tap on the message and hold for 5 seconds for the action popup to appear. In it you have to select “Edit” and change the text. After the changes, a notification will be at the bottom of the message that “Edited” so the other party will know about it.
In December 2023, the same feature appeared in Messenger; you also have 15 minutes to fix the message.
The 15-minute limit was introduced to prevent users from abusing this feature by changing messages to mislead the other party after a while. So yay, finally, we can edit messages.
