Having an add-to-queue feature on YouTube is appreciated by many users. It’s really handy because you can figure out ahead of time what videos will play. For a long time, users have complained that this feature only works in the browser. On iOS and Android smartphones, it would be great if users could queue.

A couple of days ago, YouTube announced it was starting to test the queue system on iOS and Android. Only Premium account users can activate it for now. At the same time, not all users can do it. Some people opened the app and saw the queue function was already active in their app.

At the same time, other users need to activate it themselves. To do this:

  • Click on the profile icon and select settings.
  • Select Try new features, then scroll to “Queue” and tap the “Try it out” button.

Also, for a large number of users, this function is inactive. So you can update the app and test it again.

Once this feature is available, you will see a new “Play last in queue” button in the three vertical dots menu that appears on the video thumbnails. Then when you click it, you’ll add the video to the end of the queue – or create a new queue if you’re not currently watching the video.

If you’re a YouTube user who doesn’t have a Premium subscription, you can wait for the test to end. Hopefully, after that, adding videos to the queue will be available to all users.
