This is because the sound people hear is shocking and loud to them.

What to do to enable or disable emergency alerts on the iPhone

The Emergency Alert System is a national public address system. Using this alert system, the president, state, and local governments can reach people within 10 minutes. This system is used during an emergency to relay important weather information, immediate threats, AMBER warnings, and local incident information to specific areas. This notification system is used when all other means of notifying the public aren’t available. EAS is transmitted through broadcasters, and satellite digital audio services.

It’s also provided by direct broadcast satellite providers, cable television systems, and wireless cable systems. The system works in such a way that a person will be notified depending on their geographic location.

If an incident occurs in Chicago, Amber Alert will be sent to everyone in the vicinity of Chicago. It’s also important to note that some alerts may not be available in your country or region.

The way the system works means that people can always be notified. If an emergency occurs, it’s very important to be informed as soon as possible. It’s important to save your life, and your loved ones, and to help those in need.

Since not everyone always follows the news feed. As these notifications come to the iPhone and create enough noise for the owner of the device to hear it. Sometimes this can be the reason for someone to want to turn off emergency alerts.

What steps to take to turn the emergency alerts on your iPhone on or off

In the event that something happens, a person in the U.S. can receive three types of notifications. AMBER alerts, emergency alerts, and public safety alerts. These are enabled by default on your iPhone. If you want to turn them off or set them differently, you need to follow fairly simple steps:

  • The first step to do this is to open ‘Settings’ on your iPhone. Use the search function by swiping the Home screen to the right. Type ‘Settings’ in the search box or find the settings app yourself.
  • Once the settings menu opens on your iPhone, scroll down a bit and click on the ‘Notifications’ icon. This icon appears in red with a bell symbol.
  • The next step is to scroll down to the bottom of the page, to the bottom of the screen. In front of you should be the ‘Government Alerts’ section.
  • Now that you have 3 items in front of you, drag the slider to the one you want, to customize how you feel most comfortable by turning these notifications off or on.

Why you shouldn’t turn off alarms and amber alerts on your iPhone

Since most people lead too active a life, sometimes you want to cut yourself off from the world and not receive any notifications. Still, it’s worth considering whether it’s worth it. After all, such messages come when dangerous weather or other serious health or safety events are coming to your area.

Anyone should be alerted so they can take action. If you turn off all of these options, you won’t be able to receive important alerts about inclement weather and other important news.
