How to clear Siri suggestions

Siri is a voice assistant on Apple devices. This function fulfills your requests when you give a voice command and can suggest various actions independently. Unfortunately, Siri sometimes doesn’t do it correctly, which annoys some users. If you also find it irritating, you can learn how to disable the suggestions function in the Siri voice memo on your iPhone.

How to disable Siri suggestions through the Settings

If you’re tired of Siri constantly suggesting things and want it to stop, you can use the settings to disable this feature. To do this:

  • On your iPhone or other Apple device, open settings and find the Siri & Search tab.
  • Scroll down to the Suggestions from Apple section. There you’ll see four items. You can use them to choose when suggestions appear and when they don’t.

If you want to disable the suggestions, disable all four options. Each switch should be gray. If you do this, you can be sure that you won’t see more suggestions while using your device.

How to prevent Siri from suggesting particular apps

If you don’t want to disable Siri altogether but only exclude certain apps, select apps to remove from the list of possible suggestions individually. To do this:

  • Open Settings and go to Siri & Search.
  • Under the Suggestions from the Apple section, find the list of apps. Select the app you want Siri to stop suggesting to you.
  • After selecting an app, please turn off all the toggle switches on its page.

You can do this with any number of apps and leave only the ones you find most useful.

How do Siri suggestions work, and how useful are they to you

Before turning off Siri suggestions, ensure you don’t need them. This feature’s meaning is that Siri suggests what you should do next based on your recent actions and what you consistently use for specific tasks. For example, if you’re constantly using a specific app at a particular time, Siri will remember it and will always propose you use it at a suitable time.

A more specific list of situations in which Siri is most likely to help you. Siri can help when you do any of the following:

  • Look at a locked screen or start a search. Siri learns your habits. The longer you use your device with the suggestions feature active, the more often Siri will suggest what you need at the right time.
  • Create emails and events. When you start adding people to an email or calendar event, Siri suggests people you’ve added to previous emails or events.
  • When you’re receiving Calls. When an incoming call comes in from an unknown number, Siri tells you who might be calling you based on the phone numbers in your emails.
  • Text Entry. When you type, Siri can prompt you for movie titles, places – anything you’ve recently watched on your iPhone. When you tell a friend you’re going on a trip, Siri can suggest an approximate arrival time.
  • When you confirm an appointment or book a flight on a travel site. Siri will ask if you want to add the event to your calendar.

There are many ways how this function can make your life easier and help you navigate through your phone. Please think twice before you turn it down.
