Spotify is one of the popular and best music streaming apps around the world. It competes with streaming services like YouTube Music, Apple Music, and others. If you’re a seasoned Spotify user, you probably know that this particular service is known for great recommendations. You may also have heard about Spotify launching a rather interesting service called Listen Alike.

In a nutshell, Listen Alike is a Spotify feature that allows you to find your celebrity music pair by comparing your music taste to that of famous people. This is very useful for most users, as users can now listen to songs that celebrities like to listen to. The Listen Alike feature creates a playlist of songs comparing your taste with celebrity music taste.

You can also use the Spotify Listen Alike option to create a curated playlist of songs you may like. This means that you can use Spotify to create a playlist of tracks that you listen to and that your idol or another celebrity is listening to. Or to be more precise, you could do it, because at the moment this function isn’t available. However, just in case Spotify brings this option back, here’s how to use Spotify Listen Alike.

What celebraties are taking part in the Spotify Listen Alike program

When you use Listen Alike, you’ll discover new music and podcasts through curated lists from celebrity listeners. You’ll discover what you have in common with these select listeners, and you might even encounter a surprise when you find an artist outside your comfort zone.

Artists and songwriters with different musical tastes participate in the program. The variety of personalities on the celebrity list offers a well-balanced repertoire of music with which to compare your tastes. This is not surprising, given Spotify’s extensive music library. The diversity makes comparing musical tastes even more enjoyable.

They include John Ledgend, Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R., Conan O’Brien, Brian Baumgartner, Ben Kissel, Beabadoobee, SAINt JHN, Rachel Lindsay, Phoebe Bridgers, Dermot Kennedy, Gunna, Jessie Ware, and Lil Durk.

How to use Spotify Listen Alike

Everybody with a Spotify account can use Listen Alike by going to the Listen Alike microsite. Once you enter the site, you’ll find an extensive list of musicians, podcasters, influencers, and selected community leaders, such as teachers and doctors, ready to collaborate. If you want the best results, be sure to install the Spotify app on your device. You can use this feature from your mobile device or via the Internet. It’s important to note that you must have an active Spotify account or it will not work.

If you want to know how to use Spotify Listen Alike, you have to follow these steps:

  • First of all, go to the Spotify Listen Alike official website and sign to your Spotify account, if necessary.
  • Scroll the page to find the listener you want to connect with, or let Spotify choose it for you by clicking or tapping on the “Make Your Connection” button. The next page will give you a percentage comparison of how much you have in common.
  • To find out exactly what you have in common, click or tap on “See More”. On this page you’ll find three examples of genres, songs, podcasts, or musicians you both listen to.
  • Click or tap on the “Next” button for clarity. You will find a list of what you have in common on a personalized chart with your couple. You have the option to share this graphic on social media by clicking on the social links.
  • To get a custom playlist based on your match recommendations, go to “Get Your Playlist”.

The playlist will open in your Spotify app or web browser under the celebrity’s name and you. For example, “SAINt JHN and I”. The playlist will automatically save to your playlist library so you can access it at any time.

How to see who liked your playlist on Spotify

What can you do to see the profiles of people who liked your playlist on Spotify? Unfortunately, but it’s true, Spotify doesn’t give you any way to check and see who liked your playlist on Spotify, instead you can check the total number of likes on your playlist.

However, honestly, if you’ve been using your Spotify account since 2013, you may have been lucky enough to use this feature to see who liked your playlist. However, after 2013, the app got rid of this feature, no one knows why, but many users still wanted to check every profile that liked a playlist. Now the only option users have is to check the list of subscribers who have followed your playlist on Spotify.
