Apple’s Airpods are one of the most popular wireless earphones. Consumers like them for their minimalist design, clean sound, and ultra-portable design. The case of the Airpods features an LED light that shows different colors depending on the situation and a reset button. If you have just purchased and haven’t had time to understand all the features and functions of the earphones, you will probably be confused when you see your AirPods flashing red or other colors. In that case don’t worry, because there is nothing wrong with it. Even on the contrary, this way your AirPods provide you with information about the status of the device.
So, here is about the AirPods red and other LED lights. This article tells you everything you need to know about it.
What do the LED lights on AirPods mean
If you have opened the case cover and noticed that the light on your AirPods is flashing red, you can find out how much time is left to fully charge the earphones. If the AirPods LED blinks red, it means the device is in charging status and you need to wait a little while. If the color of the indicator is green, it means the battery is fully charged and the earphones are ready to use.
You can also look at the charge of the case. If the earphones are removed from it and it is plugged in, you should also open the cover and check the indicator. Green – the case is charged, yellow – there is less than one cycle of the earphones charge before the case is ready. The white color of the indicator shows the status of readiness to connect the earphones to the device.
There are also some other statuses:
- A steady red light when your Airpods are not in the case means that the Airpods case has less than one full charge left.
- A steady red light when the AirPods case is connected to the charger means that the case is charging. If there are earphones in it, they will also charge with the case.
- A steady green light on your Airpods outside the case indicates that the Airpods case has at least one full recharge.
- When you see the flashing red light, it means that your Airpods have encountered a pairing error and need to be reset to pair again.
- When you don’t see the light at all, it means that your Airpods and their case are completely discharged and you need to charge them.
