Apple often makes quite good-quality devices that are known for their quality and durability. The same applies to the earphones from Apple-AirPods. However, sometimes users can still encounter such a problem as a case from the headphones that don’t charge. Many people don’t know what to do in this situation. In fact, there are several ways to solve this problem.

How to fix an AirPods case that doesn’t charge

The market for accessories for modern devices is quite wide. This includes various watches, smart bracelets, cases, and much more. One of the main accessories for any device from Apple is their branded earphones AirPods.

This is a quality device that provides good sound and stable performance. Because Apple made them specifically for their devices, they added an auto-connect feature. You just open the case near your phone and it will automatically find your earphones and connect them. It’s really convenient.

However, nothing in the world is perfect. Even with Apple devices, unpleasant episodes sometimes happen. As an example, the case in AirPods stops charging.

How to understand that it is the case and not the earphones that is broken

It’s actually quite easy to figure this out. If you put your earphones in the case and they charge and work after that then there is nothing wrong with them.

However, when you connect the case to the charger and its charge level doesn’t increase but continues to decrease, there is a problem with it. It can be either a software problem due to a system malfunction or a hardware problem due to a mechanical failure.

In this case, there are some simple fixes you can use to fix the problem.

What you can do to fix AirPods case problem

If you’re experiencing problems with the charging case and are sure that the problem is with the case and not with the earphones themselves you have several ways to fix the problem. You can do the following:

Try replacing the charging cable

If you have an extra cable then you should try charging your device with it. It’s possible that your cable or the plugs on it have simply failed.

This can happen if your cable is already quite old. You should change your cables periodically. You may also want to check it for rips and dirt. If you find that the plugs are dirty, you can clean them with alcohol.

Try another charger and another outlet

If the problem isn’t with the cable next you should look at the charger. It’s just as likely to break and malfunction due to old age or overheating.

Other than that, try charging the case with a different outlet or using the port in your computer. You may have a problem with the power grid in your home.

Reset your case from AirPods

If the problem with your case was software related then a factory reset should help. It’s pretty easy to do. It will take you literally a few seconds to do it. You’ll have to:

  • Find the setup button in its back.
  • Press it and hold for 15 seconds until the light flashes amber and then white.

Then the case will be reset and you need to check if it’s charging now. Also after resetting it’s advisable to wait a few minutes before you connect the case to the charger.

Check the charging port on the AirPods case

You may have a broken port. You should check it for visible cracks or damage.

If it’s dirty and covered with dust or other dirt then you should clean it. You can try cleaning it with a toothbrush to ensure a pin isn’t being blocked by dust or dirt.

Then reattach the cable and see if it works.

If all these tips don’t help you to solve the problem then the best solution is to contact your nearest Apple Store to have them check if your earphones are just defective.
