Why you can’t find the YouTube app on Samsung TV? How to fix

Samsung Smart TV provides users with many different features. It is what includes the ability to install and use apps. Many users often have apps for streaming services such as YouTube or Netflix. But recently, users of old Samsung Smart TVs began to notice that the YouTube app is missing, and they can no longer run it and watch videos on this service.

You can not fix it. All you can do in this situation is to find ways to get YouTube on your Samsung TV, not to add YouTube to the TV again because Samsung removed the app from some older models of Samsung Smart TVs. So figure out what to do next and how to watch videos on the YouTube streaming service.

Why can’t you see YouTube on your Samsung TV?

The most important thing about noticing that the YouTube app is no longer on your Samsung Smart TV is to understand that this is not a bug or a mistake. So in such a situation, you need to look for alternative methods to watch videos and not waste time trying to fix it.

If you can’t find YouTube in the app store, your Samsung Smart TV has probably stopped supporting it. This is because YouTube has stopped supporting Flash. Likewise, older Samsung TVs, some Blu-ray players, and set-top boxes have now lost the YouTube app because they only had the Flash YouTube app.

This situation has affected all Samsung Smart TVs that do not have the Tizen operating system. Such Samsung Smart TVs were released before 2017. So in this situation, you should learn how to help you watch YouTube on TV, but without using the app.

If this situation affects only one of your Samsung TVs, and you find that the other TV still has the YouTube app, you should not update the software. Don’t get your hopes up that Samsung will fix this; you can get YouTube back on your TV. It probably won’t because it doesn’t make sense for the company to release any additional apps or fixes for your outdated TV. Samsung, like any other company, is interested in you buying a new TV. You, in turn,, will make a turnover, and the company will give you a better product with many more features and functions.

How to fix YouTube not showing up on Samsung TV?

If it so happens that your Samsung TV does not support the YouTube app, you can still access it but differently. So follow the methods below to watch videos on this video platform.

Use a set-top box or a third-party device

One solution to the problem could be to use a set-top box or third-party device. These types of set-top boxes are connected to the TV using the HDMI port. Since every Samsung TV has an HDMI port. So you can connect any set-top box or laptop.

The easiest way, so you don’t have to buy a third-party set-top box, you can use your laptop. All you need to do is to open YouTube in your browser and select a video clip. Then use an HDMI cable and connect one end to the TV and the other to the Samsung TV. You can also connect an Apple TV or Roku.

This method is usually used by people who do not have a Smart TV function since these methods allow you to watch the same content as on Samsung Smart TV but save money on the purchase.

Use AirPlay

This method is my favorite and most used because it is the easiest but also has disadvantages.

All you need is to have an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Next, you need to connect two devices to the same access point. Then follow these steps to activate this feature on your Samsung TV.

  • After you have connected to one hotspot, you need to open the necessary video.
  • Then tap AirPlay.
  • Next, choose your Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible Smart TV.

Among the drawbacks of this use may be that you need to monitor the charge level of your iPhone, iPad, or MacBook.

Open YouTube using a Built-in Browser

This method is quite logical and comes to mind for most people. All you need to do is open the YouTube page in the Samsung TV browser. This will work if the browser also uses Flash, which YouTube has already abandoned. I also found this method annoying because the browser is a little glitchy. The browser on the TV is slower, and that’s to be expected.
